Bydgoszcz is the 8th largest city in Poland and the capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Region. It has nearly 360 thousand inhabitants, about 10% of whom are students. The city has a lot to offer to both residents and visitors.
There are over a dozen universities and colleges in Bydgoszcz, which makes students a substantial percentage of the city’s population. Pubs and clubs, cafés and restaurants, galleries and museums, parks, stadiums, cinemas and theatres, an opera and a philharmonic – there are so many alternatives that you will never have to wonder how to spend your leisure time. Groups of students roaming the streets of the picturesque Old Market Square or the numerous modern shopping centres are a common sight in Bydgoszcz.
The cost of living can vary considerably depending on a student’s lifestyle. We could say that a very average cost of living (excluding the fee for dormitory or other accommodation) is about PLN 50 per day, which gives about PLN 1500 per month.
